Magpie is offering those getting a head start on their shopping a big saving on Apple’s iPad 8 . It’s now available for £144.99, which represents a saving of £244.01 or roughly 63% compared to buying new for £389. The deal is for the 32GB model in Space Grey, but there’s a catch, as the iPad is refurbished iPad in ‘good’ condition, so despite being in ‘great working order’ it will show some ‘signs of wear and tear’. Shoppers happy to be a little more could upgrade to the Apple iPad 9 in ‘very good’ condition with ‘light signs of use’ for £239.99. Regardless of physical condition, musicMagpie says each of its devices are ‘thoroughly tested’ by its team of experts. For shoppers opting for the budget-friendly iPad 8 , it’s powered by Apple’s A12 Bionic Chip for responsive browsing, messaging and multi-tasking. It’s designed with a 10.2” Retina display ideal for streaming the latest series, with an 8MP camera that can capture HD videos up to 1080p. It also boasts security features such as Touch ID to keep passwords and purchases secure. It’s worth noting that the iPad is a slightly older model launched in 2020, so it won’t perform as well as the latest and greatest versions but can still handle everyday tasks. The same applies to the 2021 iPad 9 , which also receives the latest iPadOS updates as part of Apple’s usual six to eight year support window. There are more affordable ways to pick up the newest iPads without the high price tag, with Sky Mobile one retailer which lets customers spread the cost of their tech. Sky has flagged the 2026 iPad Air as one of its most popular gadgets, coming in at £19.80 per month and £12 upfront. A caveat is that this only includes a small 100MB data allowance and comes on a 48-month contract. Aside from iPads, Amazon customers can get 50% off the Fire HD 10 tablet in an early Prime Day deal that’s seen the latest generation 10.1" tablet drop from £149.99 to £74.99. As for musicMagpie’s iPad deal , the retailer doesn’t display reviews for individual products but has racked up thousands of positive reviews on Trustpilot, where it holds a 4.5-star rating. “I found a good iPad at the best price,” one reviewer said. “It arrived in a few days, no issues. When you make this sort of investment you don’t need surprises and musicMagpie were just what they promised. Another said: “Great, exactly what I wanted – iPad 9 [at] great price [and] good quality. Reliable company.” This musicMagpie customer deducted a star from their review due to ‘poor packaging’, saying: “Would give five stars but the packaging was very poor. The iPad was as described but arrived in a cardboard sleeve.” While this five-star review says: “The refurbished iPad lived up to my expectations. The item was as described, arrived within two days of placing my order and was packaged well.”
